A possessive ex-boyfriend told his former girlfriend he would 'make her kill herself' and left her suffering with PTSD after bombarding her with messages.
Lewis Moscrop even went to the woman's home and "quietly" tapped on her window before shouting through her letterbox.
The woman, who the ECHO has chosen not to name, said Moscrop has "shattered her trust" and forced her to move home for the third time.
Moscrop, of Ackers Hall Avenue, Knotty Ash, told the woman he was behaving this way because she had made him "obsessed" with her.
Appearing in Liverpool Crown Court today, the 22-year-old was sentenced for breaching a non-molestation order and racially abusing a police officer when he was arrested.
He appeared two months after slashing himself with a blade in the dock two months earlier, in distressing scenes.
Moscrop was facing multiple charges when he produced the blade and cut himself before smearing blood on the glass.
Sarah Griffin, prosecuting, explained that Moscrop had been in a relationship with his victim that had broken down and led to a non molestation order being imposed on September 11 last year.
The order prevents Moscrop from contacting his ex apart from through a solicitor or from attending her mother's address where she was staying.
On November 7 last year, despite the order in place, there was an email exchange between Moscrop and his ex, in which he asked her "Are you with a lad?" and told her he was coming to her address.
Ms Griffin explained that while on FaceTime with her friend his ex girlfriend heard "movement" from outside but dismissed it.
She said: "She heard a knock at the window, it was initially quite quiet and she ignored it. It got progressively louder."
Moscrop then began "shouting through the letterbox" to which his former partner said "Are you messing you're going to wake my mum up, she's not well".
He told the woman he would leave if she let him "tell you what I've done".
After opening the door Moscrop revealed his bloody hand, explaining he had smashed one of her windows adding: "I thought you were with a lad".
Ms Griffin said: "He told her it's her fault because she had not been answering his messages".
Messages read aloud to the court by Ms Griffin included Moscrop texting the victim to say "I am going to make you kill yourself today" and "you are the one making me obsessed with you".
After going to police the woman said that throughout November and December Moscrop had been texting her, prompting a wanted appeal for Moscrop from officers.
Moscrop was discovered on January 11 this year at his Knotty Ash home where he was "found hiding in a wardrobe upstairs" and became "agitated and abusive" when arrested.
After saying he was going to hurt himself and hitting his head against the police van's cage, Moscrop was taken to Fazakerley hospital before being discharged and taken into custody.
Ms Griffin explained that at 10.05am the following day Moscrop was "being escorted to his cell and was in possession of a piece of paper with a mobile number on it".
She said: "The officer explained he wouldn't be able to take it into his cell and would have to leave it outside in his trainer."
Moscrop "began to shout 'n*****, you little n*****' repeatedly" and spat in the police officer's face before hurling another offensive racial slur.
Moscrop gave no comment in an interview.
In a victim personal statement, summarised by Ms Griffin, Moscrop's former girlfriend said: "She can't even begin to put into words the pain and hurt caused by the defendant."
She said she "sits in bed crying" and has suffered panic attacks and "when she's with her little boys she doesn't feel like she can protect them".
The mum added if she hears noises she asks her children to be quiet, and her eldest son has begun to do the same.
She said she is "moving house for the third time" and "doesn't feel safe due to the defendant".
Ms Griffin said: "As a result of this she has stopped eating" adding: "she started isolating herself from her family".
She said: "The defendant has shattered her trust into so many pieces."
The court heard the woman has been diagnosed with PTSD following the offences.
Moscrop has 11 previous convictions for 16 offences, including burglary and drugs charges.

John Rowan, defending, said his client wanted to express his "genuine remorse" towards the victim and he has since been "motivated" to work with professionals while in custody to change his behaviour.
He said: "He's been in custody since January 13, spending 23 hours a day in his cell, and he's had the time to consider his behaviour and he wants it known how sorry he is for the pain and obvious distress he caused by these messages and approaching her address that evening.
"It was a stupid and foolish thing to do."
Mr Rowan added his client has suffered with self-harm issues in the past, has PTSD has emotional anxiety and depression.
Moscrop admitted three counts of breaching a non molestation order and one count of racially aggravated public disorder.
These offences were committed while Moscrop was on a suspended sentence issued by the courts for another offence.
Judge Brian Cummings, QC, said Moscrop had committed the offences "about three weeks after" he was handed a suspended sentence, adding: "This amounts to a fragrant breach."
He said: "These breaches were serious and came very early in the life of the order and came with a non-compliance with other orders."
Moscrop was jailed for eight months for the breaches, with no further sentence for the racially aggravated disorder. This will run consecutively with an eight-month sentence activated from his previous suspended sentence.
Moscrop was told he will serve half of his 16-month sentence before he is released on licence for 12 months. He was also given a restraining order not to contact the victim or her mother for five years.
