Boyfriend calls 999 after girlfriend flies into rage as he turns down lap dance

A terrified boyfriend was forced to call 999 after his girlfriend flew into a rage as he turned down her offer of a lap dance.

Vasilica Despa had stripped to her underwear to give boyfriend Nicol Love the dance as a Valentine’s Day treat - but he said he didn't want it.

Nicol said she started throwing clothes around the house in Kinross, Scotland, so he decided to phone police for help.

But he said while he was on the phone, Despa began throwing punches and kicks at him.

Officers advised him to barricade himself in the living room to fend off his girlfriend, the Daily Record reports.

The Napier University security assistant, 52, spent nearly half an hour hiding with the chair propped against the door to keep Despa at bay.

An officer then arrived at the scene and had to grapple with the semi-naked woman on the bed before calling for back-up.

PC Douglas Stapleton told how she lunged at him and spat in his face.

Nicol had been in an on-off relationship with the Romanian-born cleaner for two years and they had moved in together last September.

He said: “She came home from work at 12.15pm. We had some sexual contact. I thought everything was great. I was a happy man.”

Things took a turn for the worse when Despa started drinking.

Nicol told how she started to goad him about his lack of sexual prowess before dancing provocatively in her underwear.

He added: “She kept coming up beside me, saying things in my ear. I ignored it and didn’t want any part of it. She kept following me round the sofa, sitting real close to me.

“She disappeared into the bedroom and came back just in her underwear, dancing round, with her mobile phone on playing loud music.

“I was making a decision about what to do. It wasn’t the normal Vasilica I knew.

“I decided I was going to pack a bag and leave the house.”

Despa, 44, from Kinross, was found guilty of assaulting Nicol Love on February 13 (Perthshire Picture Agency (PPA))

He said Despa then began throwing his clothes around the house and he decided to call the police for help.

Nicol added: “When I had the police on the phone, she started throwing punches and kicks at me.

"Police told me to barricade myself into a room. I propped up the living room chair against the door handle to stop her following me and waited for the police. It was about 20 to 25 minutes.”

PC Douglas Stapleton, 52, arrived at 8pm but Despa refused to let him in.

The officer told Perth Sheriff Court he had to shoulder charge the door to get in.

Despa was wearing pyjama trousers and a robe which was open, exposing her breasts.

He said: “As soon as I got in, she was barging into me repeatedly. She was very highly strung and under the influence of something.

“She lunged towards me. She tried to kick me on the shins. She spat in my face and it hit me right between my eyes, on the bridge of my nose.

“She came at me again trying to throw punches at me, flailing her arms. I grabbed her wrists and she was kicking me.”

Police managed to restrain and cuff her on top of the bed.

Despa was arrested and spent the night in custody before being released after appearing in court on Valentine’s Day.

Despa, 44, from Kinross, was found guilty of assaulting Nicol Love on February 13 by punching his head and kicking him on the body.

She was found guilty of attacking PC Stapleton by repeatedly kicking him on the body, repeatedly trying to punch his head and spitting in his face.

Sheriff Keith O’Mahoney said: “I found Mr Love and PC Stapleton credible and reliable.”

He found Despa guilty and deferred sentence for reports.
