Boy rushed to hospital after being hit by car

A teenage boy was taken to hospital after a crash involving a driver in Midsomer Norton. The incident, on Monday (March 28), happened on High Street at 3.35pm.

An air ambulance and a double crewed-ambulance rushed to the scene to help the boy. The road was closed until 4.45pm while police and paramedics worked at the scene.

In a statement, police said: “Officers attended a road traffic collision near High Street in Midsomer Norton following a call at about 3.35pm on Monday, March 28 regarding a collision involving a teenage pedestrian and a car."

The statement added: “Paramedics attended the scene and took the boy to hospital. The road was reopened at about 4.45pm.”

South Western Ambulance Service confirmed the teenager was taken to the Royal United Hospital in Bath.

They said: “We were called at 3.34pm on Monday, March 28 to an incident in the Midsomer Norton area.

"We sent an operations officer, an air ambulance and a double-crewed ambulance. We conveyed one patient by land ambulance to the Royal United Hospital.”
