Boy rushed to Glasgow hospital after being hit by car on busy Milngavie road

A boy was rushed to a Glasgow hospital after being hit by a car on a busy road in Milngavie.

The 15-year-old was struck by the vehicle while walking on Main Street close to Lennox Park just after 5pm on Friday evening (November 5).

The teen was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment, the Daily Record reports.

His injuries have been assessed as non life-threatening.

Police say that the driver of the car stopped at the scene, and a crash report will be submitted in due course.

Social media reports suggest that locals came to the aid of the boy and 'lifted the car off him'.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We were called at 4.37pm on Friday, 5 November to reports of a crash involving a car and a pedestrian on Main Road, Milngavie. A 15-year-old boy was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow.

"His injuries have been assessed as non-life-threatening. "The driver of the car stopped at the scene. Officers will submit a crash report."
