A young boy was rescued from a lake at a water park after 'getting into difficulty', police say.
At around 3.45pm on Thursday, June 25, an air ambulance was called to Bosworth Water Park, a popular attraction in Leicestershire, to assist in the rescue of the boy.
Officers from Leicestershire Police also attended the incident, and the force says the boy was brought out of the lake conscious.
A spokesman said: "Police were called at around 3.45pm today (Thursday) by East Midlands Ambulance Service reporting their attendance at Bosworth Water Park.
"Officers attended where it is believed a child had got into difficulty in the water. The boy was brought out and was conscious and talking to paramedics.
"He has been taken to the Leicester Royal Infirmary as a precaution.
"The air ambulance was also at the scene."
Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service has issued a water safety warning amid the mini heatwave.
Temperatures have reached highs of 30C in some areas of the county, and the emergency services are advising people to stay out of open water despite the heat.
The service said: "During this period of hot sunny weather, stay out of our open water sites. They might look like fun, but they often come with deadly and tragic consequences.
We don't want to use [our water rescue services], stay safe stay out of the water."
