Boy pulled from lake rushed to Temple Street Hospital

A young boy is currently in a serious condition in a Dublin hospital after nearly drowning during a lake incident.

The boy was rushed to Temple Street Hospital after he was recovered from the water at Lough Sheelin just after 3pm yesterday.

He was airlifted to Dublin where he is still recovering from his injuries with Garda enquiries ongoing.

A Garda spokesman said: "Gardaí attended the scene of an incident at Lough Sheelin on Tuesday 20 July.

“A male youth was recovered from the water shortly before 3pm.

"He was taken to CHI, Temple Street where his condition is described as serious. Inquiries are ongoing."
