Boy left stranded and 'in tears' helped by kind woman who saw him on roadside

The mum of a young lad who ended up stranded when he got on the wrong bus has posted online to thank the kind stranger who helped him.

The 12-year-old was returning home from school on Friday, September 3 when he accidentally boarded the wrong service and ended up in Huyton, Merseyside.

A dog walker let the boy borrow her phone to call his mum, but he wasn't able to reach her at work, the Liverpool Echo reports.

Sharing the story on Facebook, the boy's mum said another women, who is a resident in the area, then offered the him a lift home.

She said: "On Friday my 12 year old son got the wrong bus home from school and ended up on Pilch Lane (Huyton).

"A lovely lady who was walking her dog lent my son her phone to call me but I didn’t answer as I was in work.

"When I got back in touch with her she said that a lady came out of her house to check he was ok as he was upset and gave him a lift home.

"If the lady who gave him a lift home is on here thank you so much, we really appreciate your kindness xx."

Over 680 people liked the post which was shared in the People Help the People community group on Facebook.

Writing in the comments, one woman said: "Oh glad your son got home OK! How lovely of the lady x".

Another wrote: "We forget people are generally nice."

A third said: "Aww well done to the kind lady for getting him home safe."
