A young boy was left covered in blood following a reported assault at a school in West Yorkshire.
Kai, 12, suffered a deep cut on his head and also sustained a broken wrist and fractured arm.
It is believed he had been pushed from behind as he left Ryburn Valley High School at Sowerby Bridge on Tuesday afternoon.
Police have mounted reassurance patrols in the area in response to the incident which has left parents deeply concerned.
Mum Rebecca Lloyd said her son had "blacked out" in the fall and started to panic as he gained consciousness, Examiner Live reported.
"He thought he was going to die. He was taken to hospital because the bleeding was quite significant.

"He has broken his wrist and his arm and will need to be in a cast for eight weeks."
Ms Lloyd said she was "gobsmacked" at the extent of her son's injuries.
"I was in shock. It breaks my heart. My blood ran cold when I saw him," she continued.
"He is a fantastic boy - chatty and caring. He has been overwhelmed by the support he has had."

Ms. Lloyd believes that the culprit pushed Kai "just to make people laugh".
She has praised the school and West Yorkshire Police for their prompt response to the incident.
"The police and the school have been working together. They have been fantastic."
A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said the incident had been reported as an assault.

"Police are investigating following a reported assault on a 12-year-old boy which occurred yesterday afternoon (Tuesday, March 26) on St Peter's Avenue, Sowerby Bridge.
"Reassurance patrols have been conducted today and enquiries are ongoing."
Ryburn Valley High head teacher David Lord told Examiner Live: "We are investigating the incident and have taken appropriate action which all parties are happy with."
