A teenager has died after running away from chaotic scenes which saw ‘fireworks hurled at riot police’ in Yorkshire.
It’s understood the 17-year-old accidentally injured himself after jumping over a fence on Vickerman Street in Halifax and falling into a greenhouse, fatally cutting himself on the glass.
The tragedy followed scenes of chaos on the street on Bonfire Night during which a large group 'hurled fireworks in the direction of police', Yorkshire Live reports .

West Yorkshire Police (WYP) have confirmed the force has referred itself to the Independent Office for Police Conduct as officers had been called to deal with a fireworks incident before the boy's tragic death.
One woman who lives on the street, but did not want to be named, said she called an ambulance after noticing the boy had injured himself while running through back gardens on the street. "He jumped onto the greenhouse and that is how he got injured," she said.
The 33-year-old mum said another resident tended to the boy as an operator from Yorkshire Ambulance Service gave instructions over the phone before an ambulance arrived. She added: "It was an accident. There was nothing we could do."
A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: "Police were called by the ambulance service just before 8.15pm on Saturday, November 5, following reports of an injured male in the garden of a property in Vickerman Street, Halifax. A 17-year-old male was taken to hospital where he died. The scene is open and the force has referred itself to the IOPC as police had been called to the street due to fireworks being set off."
