Boy in hospital after he was hit by a car

A teenage boy was hurt after being hit by a car.

The youngster was injured in the collision on Hyde Road in Woodley, near Stockport, at around 3.30pm today (Thursday).

Police and paramedics were called to the scene close to the White Hart pub and the youngster was taken to hospital, although his condition is not thought to be serious.

A spokeswoman for the North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) confirmed an ambulance and an advanced paramedic were called to the scene following reports of a collision between and a car and a pedestrian at 3.24pm.

The casualty, a boy aged in his teens, was taken to hospital but he had not suffered any 'major trauma', according to NWAS.

A spokeswoman for GMP confirmed officers were called following reports of a collision between a pedestrian and a vehicle.

Residents reported that traffic was heavy and 'not moving' in the area following the incident.
