Boy in critical condition in hospital after being hit by bus

A teenage boy is in a 'critical' condition in hospital after being hit by a bus. Around 4.40pm yesterday (Wednesday May 4) police were called to reports of a crash.

Officers attended the scene in Widnes and found a collision involving a bus and a teenager. The crash happened near to the junction of Kingsway and Moor Lane.

The teenager, who is just 14 years-old, was taken to Alder Hey Hospital. His condition is said to be critical but stable, report CheshireLive.

Cheshire Police are appealing for witnesses and video footage following the serious collision. Officers want to hear from anyone with any information that may aid their investigation. Firefighters also attended the scene and worked for an hour to rescue the teenager before he was taken to hospital by paramedics.

Cheshire Fire and Rescue stated: "Firefighters spent more than an hour working to rescue a teenager who had been in collision with a bus close to Kingsway Children's Centre. The male casualty was taken to Alder Hey Children's Hospital by paramedics."

North West Ambulance Service confirmed a teenage boy was taken to hospital with 'serious' injuries. Anyone with any information or video footage is asked to contact Cheshire Police at www.cheshire.police.uk/tell-us , or call 101, quoting IML 1260799.
