Boy George hits back at Lorraine Kelly after she mocks his I’m A Celebrity ‘jungle meltdown’

Boy George has slammed television presenter Lorraine Kelly after she mocked his alleged tantrum in the I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! jungle.

George is said to have had a meltdown after fellow contestant Sue Cleaver was given a lift back to camp in a golf buggy following a Bushtucker trial and he was forced to walk. This was due to Cleaver having a pre-existing medical issue.

Kelly spoke about the alleged incident on her morning show. She criticised the Culture Club singer for not being “honest and upfront”, as he claimed he was with campmates, after speaking about them being their backs.

The singer, 61, who was the fourth campmate to be voted off the show this week, hit back at Kelly, 62, on Twitter.

He said: “Yes my darling Lorraine I bet you walk everywhere and do your own make-up? Lol!”

Referring to a clip of George in the jungle, Kelly had said on her show: “Boy George — now what’s going on there? He keeps saying, ‘I speak my mind, I speak my mind’, but he’s always sort of doing hushed asides.

“But he did have a wee bit of a tantrum...not a tantrum, it was just a...I don’t know what you would call it.”

George commented back to Kelly underneath the video of her discussing him on Twitter (Boy George/Twitter)

The presenter wasn’t overly impressed with the Karma Chameleon singer’s attitude on the show, as she added: “Does he even watch this show? You don’t get golf buggies George!

“I think the thing with George is not that many people tell him no. I’m very fond of him but there’s that as well.”

Meanwhile, George has been updating fans about his adjustment back to the real world following his jungle exit on Tuesday.

The star posted a photo of himself enjoying a long-awaited pizza as he watched the World Cup on Twitter. “Eating pizza and watching #FIFAWorldCup replay after a lovely long shower,” he wrote. “Thanks for all the amazing messages.

“The love always tracends the negativity. This b**** still gives great headline. I have seen them all and laughed heartily! #ImACelebrityGetMeOutOfHere”.

I’m A Celebrity continues at 9pm tonight on ITV and ITV X.
