Boy, eight, rushed to hospital after being hit by car in Cork

A young boy was rushed to hospital after being hit by a car in Co Cork.

Gardai are investigating the incident, which happened on Pouladuff Road shortly before 3pm.

The boy, aged eight, was brought to Cork University Hospital, where thankfully his injuries are not life-threatening.

Gardai and emergency services attended the scene, which was cleared by 5pm.

A garda spokesman said: "Gardaí are investigating a road traffic collision involving a pedestrian and a car that occurred in the Pouladuff Road area of Cork on 22/11/2020 at approximately 2:50pm.

"The pedestrian, a male child aged 8, was taken to Cork University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

"Investigations are ongoing."
