Boy dies at Bristol Children's Hospital after he was knocked off his bike

A 12-year-old boy has died at a Bristol hospital two days after being knocked off his bike.

Zack Lang was riding his bike when he was involved in a collision with a car at about 9.30am on Tuesday (March 19) in a residential road in Chippenham.

The boy was seriously injured in the incident and was described as being in critical condition later that day after he was rushed to Bristol Children's Hospital.

However, he died on Thursday (March 21).

Following the collision, the driver remained at the scene and co-operated with the police. No one has been arrested in relation to the incident.

In a statement, Wiltshire Police said: "Zack sustained serious injuries and sadly died in hospital today.

"Our thoughts are with Zack's family at this extremely sad and difficult time and we would urge people to respect their privacy. They are being supported by a specially trained family liaison officer.

"We are continuing to investigate the collision and would urge anyone who has information about what happened, including anyone who may have dash cam or CCTV footage, to contact the Tri-Force Roads Policing Unit."
