A three-year-old boy has been seriously injured after he was crushed between two cars outside a supermarket.
The child got caught between a Land Rover and another vehicle in a Morrisons car park in Exeter, according to local media.
He reportedly sustained a head injury after a driver collided with the parked cars at around 1pm on Sunday.
The boy was taken to Royal Devon and Exeter hospital for treatment, police said.
His injuries were serious, but not “life-threatening or changing”, according to a Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson.
The boy was wounded when a driver reversed into two parked cars after hitting a tree, police told DevonLive.
Devon and Cornwall Police said no one had been arrested in connection with the incident, and that the driver was not injured in the crash.
They added that enquiries were ongoing.
Police were alerted to a collision involving a child and a vehicle in a Morrisons car park on Prince Charles Road in Exeter just after 1pm on Sunday.
The child’s guardians were informed and attended the scene, police said.
“Officers are currently conducting an examination of the scene,” a spokesperson said on Monday morning.
