Boy charged in connection with serious Dublin assault

A boy has been charged in relation to a serious assault in Dublin on Wednesday night.

A woman, aged in her 40s, received the injuries while out walking on the pedestrian walkway between Georges Dock and Custom House Quay around 9:30pm.

The woman is believed to have suffered a number of stab wounds and remains in the Mater Hospital where her condition is described as serious.

Gardai confirmed on Saturday morning that the boy arrested on Friday has since been charged.

He is set to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice later this morning.
