Boy arrested after Gardai carry out huge operation during Clongriffin road side searches

One boy and one young man have been arrested after stolen catalytic converters and equipment were seized during a search in Dublin yesterday.

The Special Crime Task Force attached to the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau conducted several searches of vehicles in the Clongriffin area on Thursday.

During this operation, four stolen catalytic converters, a car-jack, cutting equipment and a number of cloned registration plates were seized along with two falsely registered vehicles and one cloned registered vehicle.

The two people, one man aged 21 and one juvenile male were arrested at the scene and both were detained at Coolock Garda Station.

The man has since been charged with two counts of theft and fraud offences and is due to appear before court.
