A three-year-old boy has been killed in a hit-and-run crash in Perth's north-eastern suburbs, with the alleged driver charged with manslaughter and failing to stop.
WA Police said a car travelling north on Hancock Avenue in Aveley hit the child about 5:15pm yesterday.
The driver of the car did not stop at the scene.
The boy was rushed to Midland Hospital but died a short time later.
Police said officers identified a vehicle of interest overnight and arrested an 18-year-old man.
He has been charged with manslaughter, failing to stop and ensure assistance received after incident occasioning death, and failing to report an incident occasioning death or grievous bodily harm.
The man is due to appear in Midland Magistrates Court on December 3.
Police said the investigation was ongoing.
"Major Crash investigators are conducting an examination of the scene and are appealing for any witnesses to call Crime Stoppers," police said.
Police have encouraged anyone with dashcam or mobile phone footage of the crash to contact investigators.
