A thug has been banned from approaching a woman for three years after attacking her at her home.
Christopher Mulligan carried out the brutal assault on the victim - who cannot be named for legal reasons - after claiming he had left something in her car.
Rather than just getting the bag he needed, a court heard he began pulling stuff out of her boot and throwing clothes all over her front garden.
She went out and Mulligan began shouting and swearing at her, before she went back inside and locked the door.
Mulligan, 34, appeared in the dock at Paisley Sheriff Court to be sentenced over case.
He had earlier pleaded guilty to two charges - behaving in a threatening or abusive way, and assaulting the woman.
Procurator Fiscal Depute Pamela Brady told the court the drama unfolded at the woman's home on the night of March 9 this year.
Sheriff Colin Pettigrew blasted Mulligan, of Carnwadric, Glasgow, for his behaviour - but let him go unpunished over the case.
He said: "Your conduct that night was reprehensible. You had a legitimate reason for attending, but you were no doubt befuddled by alcohol.
"You subjected [the woman] to a tirade of abusive behaviour."
He made Mulligan the subject of a Non-Harassment Order, which sees him banned from approaching or contacting the woman in any way whatsoever for the next three years.
He also placed him on a Community Payback Order (CPO), which will see him supervised by social workers for 18 months and returning to court next year for a review of his progress on the Order.
As there was no unpaid work element imposed as part of the CPO, there is no punishment element to it.
