Boy, 8, taken to hospital with head injury after being hit by car

An eight-year-old boy was taken to hospital after being hit by a car in Salford.

Emergency services responded to the crash in Worsley Road, Eccles, at about 6.20pm on Thursday (October 15).

The crash involved a Ford Fiesta and and the young boy, police say.

The youngster received minor injuries to his head and hand.

A spokesperson for the North West Ambulance Service confirmed that the boy had been taken to hospital to receive treatment.

The driver of the Ford Fiesta remained at the scene and assisted police with their enquiries.

No arrests have been made, say GMP.

An eyewitness said the road was closed for a short period following the incident.

Anyone with information can call police on 101 quoting incident number 2240 of 15/10/2020.
