Boy, 8, and his mum 'vanish' after failing to board flight at Liverpool airport

Police are appealing for the public's help to track down an eight-year-old boy and his mum who have vanished after failing to board a flight out of Liverpool.

Merseyside Police are urgently trying to trace Andrei Stoian and mum Georgeta who are being treated as missing persons after they didn't turn up for their European flight out of Liverpool John Lennon Airport in late May.

Officers say they want to ensure the pair's safety after they went missing from their home in Tranmere.

Detectives say mother and child could have travelled to Ireland and may be in Dublin, reports the Liverpool ECHO .

A police spokesman said: "Andrei Stoian was due to take a flight with his mother Georgeta in May from Liverpool John Lennon Airport but they did not board.

"Andrei and Georgeta live in Harrowby Road, Tranmere but information suggests they may now be in Dublin, Ireland."

Andrei is described as being of slim build, with olive skin, black hair of medium length with a straight fringe.
