A young boy was left "shaken and scared" after a large dog while out walking.
The victim's mum, who did not wish to be named, said her seven-year-old son was walking in Arrowe Park on Friday morning with his childminder when she received a call to say he had been attacked by a German Shepherd dog. The panicked Wirral mum rushed to the hospital fearing the worst.
She told the ECHO: "He's got bite marks on his arm but luckily it wasn't as bad as it could've been. It could've been so much worse. But you could see the fat in his arm, it had ripped his skin away. He's now been given antibiotics in case of infection, and a lot of bruising. He has to go back on Monday."

The mum, who works in a dog grooming salon, said her son had "walked past the dog", which was on an extended lead when it "just went for him." She added: "Police were called and the owner has apparently given fake details so we are asking for any witnesses.
"I work at a dog grooming salon, he's always been around dogs but he knows not to pet a dog in the street without the owner's permission because you don't know how they would react.
"But now he's scared. He went my mother-in-laws and they have a little dog, the dog jumped up like it always does but he coward away. It's definitely affected him.
"It's such a powerful breed (German Shepherd). It would have been different if it was a smaller dog like a Shih Tzu. The dog was on an extended lead. I think those dogs, they shouldn't be on an extended lead or if they have shown signs of aggression then put a muzzle on them.
"I don't want another person to be bitten. It could be the first time it's bitten someone but once a dog goes for someone, it's more likely to do it again. We didn't even get an apology. I'm all about animal welfare but something needs to be done for safety, keep dogs on short leads or muzzled."
Taking to social media, the worried mum appealed for witnesses. She wrote: "The owner had this dog on a extendable lead and was walking it in this hot weather. He passed on fake details and left no apology to my son.
"My 7 year old son has had to go to hospital for the bite wounds and has to go back on Monday for a check up. The police are involved but with the fake details the owner gave there is not much they can do at the moment. So I'm hoping anyone seen this man in Arrowe Park (Friday) with a German Shepherd."
