A mum was left horrified after returning home to find her seven-year-old son hanging.
The mother, who works as a driver for Uber Eats, told her three children that she would only be out for a short time to make a delivery.
But when she returned home at around 3am on Wednesday, she found her boy hanging in the family's bathroom.
The mum, who lives on Country Place Drive in west Houston, called police immediately.
Dispatchers say they heard a child screaming in the background.
Firefighters arrived and tried to save the boy with CPR but he died at a hospital, the Houston Chronicle reports.
His cause of death hasn’t been released and the exact circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear.
It is currently unknown whether the mother would face criminal charges.
Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
