Boy, 6, taken to hospital after being hit by car

A six-year-old boy was taken to hospital after being hit by a car in Bury.

Emergency services were called to the incident in Arley Avenue shortly before 6.50pm on Tuesday (March 31).

The boy was taken to hospital, although his injuries are not believed to be serious.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing a number of emergency services vehicles on the residential street, off Walmersley Road.

A spokesperson for North West Ambulance Service said: "We received a 999 call at 6.48pm reporting a road traffic collision.

"It looks like a car collided with a boy.

"We attended with one ambulance and have taken a six-year-old boy to hospital.

"It looks like minor injuries only."

Greater Manchester Police have been approached for further information.
