A driver was arrested on suspicion of drug driving after a six -year-old boy was hit by a car in Kirkby.
The emergency services were called out to Bewley Drive at around 3.30pm today (Sunday) following reports of an accident. On arrival police found a boy, aged, six, had been hit by a car.
Police said the boy suffered "superficial cuts and bruises." He was taken to hospital as a precaution.

The man who was driving the car was arrested at the scene on suspicion of drug driving and careless driving, police said today.
Photographs taken at the scene showed that police had closed a section of Bewley Drive outside the Kingfisher pub.
