A British boy has drowned in a swimming pool on the Costa del Sol.
Local reports said the five-year-old was staying at a holiday apartment for half-term in the resort town of Nerja with his family including his parents, two siblings and grandparents.
Emergency services made attempts to revive him after the alarm was raised about 6pm yesterday, but he was pronounced dead two hours later.
A police investigation is under way.
The block where the drowning took place has not been named.
A local emergency co-ordination centre confirmed that a young boy had died after being rescued unconscious from a private swimming pool in Nerja.
