Boy, 5, 'acting out of character' found with 22 bags of crack cocaine at school

A five-year-old boy brought 22 bags of crack cocaine to school, it has emerged.

It's believed officials at St Cyprian Children’s Center, in Philadelphia, USA, noticed the youngster "acting out of character".

They noticed a bulge in his pocket - and thinking he was sneaking a toy into the classroom - asked him to empty them.

But they were shocked when the little boy took a huge bag of white powder from his trousers.

It contained 22 individually wrapped zip lock bags of crack coaine.

Concerned staff immediately called the police, who confirmed they responded to a 911 call at 9.20am yesterday.

The young boy said the person who gave him the drugs told him to hide them, according to Fox News.

Kenneth Gavin, Chief Communications Officer for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, said the drugs were confirmed by police as crack cocaine and had been removed from the school.

He told Fox: “Staff and administration from the Children's Center cooperated fully with police during the course of their investigative work throughout the day yesterday and will continue to do so.

“Information regarding this matter was communicated to all families served by the Children's Center yesterday afternoon.”

Police are yet to trace where the drugs have came from - but it's beleived the boy's father is now under investigation.

Investigators with the Southwest Detective Division are now handling the case.
