Boy, 4, tragically dies in hospital after getting knocked down by car

A four-year-old boy has tragically died in hospital the day after he was hit by a car in West London.

Emergency services rushed to the scene of the accident in Hayes, Hillingdon, at 6.57pm on Sunday evening.

Police, paramedics from the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance attended.

The little boy was treated at the scene before being taken to a Central London hospital, mylondon reports.

But despite the best efforts of medical professionals, he died in hospital in the early hours of Monday.

The child's family have been informed.

It was initially reported the young boy was aged "around three" by police, but it has since been confirmed he was four.

The car driver stopped at the scene and is assisting police with their enquiries.

No arrests have been made and police enquiries into the circumstances of how the crash happened remain ongoing.

Police are appealing for witnesses and dash-cam footage after the fatal collision.
