Boy, 4, rushed to hospital after being hit by car on Scots road

A four-year-old boy was rushed to hospital after being struck by a car in West Lothian.

Emergency services scrambled to the scene after the child was hit by a red Vauxhall Mokka that was travelling south on Langside Drive in Blackridge at around 6.15pm on Saturday, April 3.

Ambulance crews attended and the youngster was taken to the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Edinburgh for treatment.

He remains in hospital where he is being treated for his injuries.

Medics describe his condition as stable.

The 44-year-old female driver was not injured.

Police have launched a probe into the horror incident and they are appealing for information.

Constable Darren Gallagher at the Road Policing Department, West Lothian is appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone who has CCTV or Dash Cam footage to contact him on 101 quoting incident number 3433 of April 3.
