Boy, 3, mowed down by mobility scooter as police launch manhunt for elderly driver

A three-year-old boy has been hospitalised after he was mowed down by the driver of a mobility scooter.

The toddler was out with his grandmother in Weston-super-Mare when he was hit by the vehicle, BristolLive reports.

Police have now launched a manhunt to find the driver of the mobility scooter, who is thought to be in his 60s.

The incident took place at around 3pm on Friday in the centre of the seaside resort.

Police said there was 'a collision involving a toddler and a mobility scooter'.

The man riding the mobility scooter has not been identified, and police said they are keen to find him and any witnesses of the collision.
