Boy, 3, found alive after going missing in the woods for four days

A three-year-old boy who went missing for four days has been found alive and safe.

Christopher Ramirez was found by a member of the public close to Texas State Highway 249, outside of Magnolia in Montgomery County, said Tim Miller, founder and director of Texas EquuSearch, a search and rescue organisation.

The young boy has since been reunited with his mother and has been taken to Texas Children's Hospital to be checked over, ABC7 News reported.

EquuSearch shared a photo of him shirtless in a car, being cradled by a woman, but no further details were provided.

He was found around 11:45am local time on Saturday (October 9) and was dehydrated, Grimes County Sheriff Don Sowell said.

He added that there was "no evidence of foul play" and said family members were not persons of interest in the case.

Brhe Berry, of ABC13, tweeted: "GREAT NEWS 3YO Christopher Ramirez has been found!! Just spoke w/ Grimes Co. Sheriff. He was found in the woods far away from the home.

"He is dehydrated but alive and well according sheriff! He’s headed to Texas Children’s. Your prayers mattered today we get to report a miracle!"

The toddler had been playing with a neighbour's dog in Plantersville on Wednesday while his mother unloaded groceries from her car, police said. Christopher then followed the dog into the woods and, while the dog returned, the boy did not.

The boy's mother, Araceli Nunez, made a public appeal to help find her son as rescuers searched the woods looking for him.

"I am asking you all to please help and find my son. I don't know anything about him, and a lot of time has passed. I don't know what to do. Please everyone help me," she told reporters in Spanish at a press conference Thursday.

"I'm desperate and my heart has a hole in it. Please bring back my son, please help me," she said.
