A young boy has died in a fall from the fourth floor of a shopping centre.
Three-year-old Luan Vaz Moraes fell over 50ft from the upper tier of a mall in Cruz Alta, Rio Grande do Sul state in Brazil.
The shocking incident on September 5 saw the boy fall from the mezzanine in the shopping centre and land on a structure in the basement, which broke on impact.
The fire department was called to the scene of the awful tragedy at around 2.30pm local time.
Young Luan was quickly taken to the hospital once he was discovered - he was found with serious and ultimately fatal injuries.
He passed away un the Sao Vicente de Paulo Hospital and authorities are currently investigating how the incident actually occurred see if there was any negligence involved.

Local reports say there would have been a guard rail next to the lift.
His parents had split up and his mum did not know her son was at the mall at the time of his death.
Luan was accompanied by his father at the time of the incident.
The father and son were visiting the town and were walking through the shopping centre while waiting for their bus to leave the town.

The boy's mother told news outlet Diario that she did not know her boy was at the mall at the time and he had only recently been in hospital with kidney and breathing problems.
She said: "He was with his dad, he came for a walk because he has relatives here just like I do. The only thing I didn't know is that he was going to the mall with Luan.
"He came to take the tour here and this accident ended up happening."

Learning of the news shocked the mum of Luan, who was the couple's second child.
She revealed the death has not yet sunk in and "whoever is a mother and who is a father knows" of the pain caused by the tragedy.
She added: "I was taken by surprise. I received a call from the Military Brigade here in Cruz Alta telling me that there had been an accident with Luan. They asked where I was from, what I was doing.
"The Brigadier gave me the information that I needed to immediately come to Cruz Alta, to Hospital São Vicente, that my son was admitted there and that he could not provide more information, and that's what I did."
Mario Bisso Otero, the owner of the shopping centre, said his organisation would cooperate in the investigation and sent his condolences to the family.
