Boy, 3, dies after being hit by vehicle on farm as police launch investigation

A young boy has tragically died after being hit by a vehicle on a farm in Wales.

The vicim, three, was killed at a property in Clynderwen on Tuesday, police said.

A probe has been launched into the circumstances surrounding the horror incident, which took place at a private address.

Dyfed-Powys Police said officers were called to the scene in the Pembrokeshire area at around 7pm.

A statement added that the force was alerted to a report of a "collision involving a vehicle and a child".

It said: "Sadly, a three-year-old boy died at the scene.

"An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is ongoing and the family is being supported by specialist officers.

"The Health and Safety Executive and HM Coroner have been informed. Nobody else was injured.

"Our thoughts remain with the family at this difficult time."

Local farmer and shop owner Carwyn James Owens told the BBC that the close-knit community had been deeply affected.

He said: "People will fail to imagine the pain this poor family are going through at the moment.

"It's an amazing place to raise children on a farm, but with it there are dangers. It's just so terribly sad."
