In this dystopian future, an epidemic has swept across the lands leaving few people alive and a tyrannical power in control. This is the world boy 23 is introduced to with no idea of who he is, where he is and what has been happening. All he knows is that he has been told to run by The Voice, the only person he has ever had in his life. So that’s what he does.
This book is fast-paced and full of action, perfect for teen fans of dystopian. It kept me constantly interested and with its short sections that switch between three different perspectives, it is very easy to just pick up whenever and easily follow the plot with its many twists and turns.
The characters are fairly complex, each with their own background and personality but tend to have the stereotypical traits of most protagonists (brave, kind, courageous etc).
Boy 23 is a page-turner and I recommend it for teens who love either dystopia, action or lots of surprises!
