A teenager was shot and wounded Friday in the South Side Burnside neighborhood.

The 17-year-old told investigators he was walking down the 400 block of East 91st Place about 4:55 p.m. when someone confronted him and fired a handgun, Chicago police said.

The boy began running toward the 500 block of East 92nd Street, where he called 911, according to police. He had been shot in the elbow.

Paramedics took him to the University of Chicago Medical Center, police said. He was listed in good condition. No arrests have been made.
