Boy, 17, shot in Lawndale

A teenage boy was shot June 18, 2020, in Lawndale on the West Side. | Sun-Times file photo

A 17-year-old boy was shot Thursday in Lawndale on the West Side.

The teen was in a vacant lot about 8:15 p.m. on West Arthington Street when someone fired shots, striking him in the buttocks, Chicago police said.

The boy was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition, police said.

Area Four detectives are investigating.
