Boy, 17, ran into street asking for an ambulance after being stabbed, Bristol Crown Court hears

A 17-year-old boy who had been fatally stabbed ran into a street and asked for someone to call an ambulance, a court heard.

Tyrone Hayman died in hospital shortly after suffering the injuries at his flat in Bedminster on December 14.

Bristol Crown Court has previously heard Tyrone and another boy, now aged 15, had been arguing over a phone charger.

It is alleged that the boy stabbed Tyrone once in the chest with a knife, causing fatal injuries.

The boy, who cannot be identified due to his age, denies a charge of murder and is on trial at Bristol Crown Court.

Today (May 20), the jury heard from witnesses, a couple, who were about to drive off in their car when they saw Tyrone on the street outside his flat at about 1.30pm.

"He came towards me and said 'call an ambulance, call an ambulance'," one of the witnesses told police.

"Then I realised there was lots of blood coming from his chest. I dialled 999 and asked for the ambulance service."

The court heard Tyrone then collapsed on the ground.

A girl who had been in the flat, as well as the defendant, also came outside.

The other witness told police he asked the defendant: "You stabbed him, didn't you? What's going on, what have you done?"

The boy then told him he was going to someone's house and cycled off on a bike, the court heard.

Tyrone was taken to Bristol Royal Infirmary, where he was pronounced dead.

A post-mortem examination found he died from a single stab wound to the left side of his chest.

The trial, which is expected to conclude next week, continues.
