Boy, 17, killed in Rogers Park shooting

A 17-year-old boy was killed in a shooting June 27, 2019, in the 6900 block of North Glenwood Avenue.

A teenage boy was shot to death Thursday in Rogers Park on the North Side.

The 17-year-old was standing on the sidewalk about 2:15 p.m. when someone walked up and fired at him in the 6900 block of North Glenwood Avenue, according to Chicago police.

The teen suffered a gunshot wound to the torso and was taken to Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston, police said. He has since been pronounced dead.

No one is in custody as Area North detectives investigate.
