Boy, 17, killed in Grand Crossing shooting: police

A teenage boy was shot to death Saturday in Grand Crossing on the South Side, according to police.

Officers responded to a ShotSpotter call about 9:50 p.m. and found the boy, 17, on the sidewalk with multiple gunshot wounds to his body, Chicago police said.

The boy was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office has not released details about his death.

No one is in custody as Area South detectives investigate.
