Boy, 17, fighting for life after shooting in north London

The Met police are appealing for information after a boy was left fighting for life in a shooting in north London.

Officers were called shortly after 5pm on Friday to reports of a shooting at High Road, Arnos Grove, in the borough of Enfield.

Officers attended alongside the London Ambulance Service who treated a 17-year-old boy at the scene. He was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

Detective Sergeant Catherine Dempster, who is leading the investigation, said: “We recognise the shock and concern this will have caused the local community in Arnos Grove and are working at pace to identify the perpetrators. This cannot be done without assistance from the public.

“Were you in or near to High Road, Arnos Grove around 17:00hrs? Do you know anything about this incident? Did you hear gunshots? Do you have any CCTV / dashcam footage within the vicinity of the incident? If so, please come forward.”
