Boy, 17, dies after suspected stabbing in Perth's south overnight

WA Police hope there will not be a retaliation, but concede "that is the nature of the gangs that we deal with".

Police in Western Australia are investigating the death of a teenage boy who is believed to have been stabbed at a party in Perth's south overnight.

The 17-year-old is believed to have died after being stabbed and assaulted by a number of people at a party in Waikiki, at around 11:30pm.

"It appears there was a very violent assault by a number of different people," WA Police Commissioner Chris Dawson said.

"It apparently occurred on the street as a consequence of something that occurred in and around that party."

Commissioner Dawson said one young person had been taken into custody, but no charges had been laid.

Man dies on Tonkin Highway

Meanwhile, police are investigating the death of a man on Tonkin Highway in Bullsbrook, north-east of Perth, at around 2:15am on Sunday.

"It appears that this person lost his life on that roadway," Commissioner Dawson said.

"We don't know how, but anyone that has any information, we want you to come forward."

A 10-kilometre stretch of the highway was closed for a number of hours as police investigated the death.

The road has since reopened.

Police are investigating a third death — that of 51-year-old Nick Martin, a former WA president of the Rebels motorcycle gang — who died following a shooting at the Kwinana Motorplex on Saturday night.

Mr Martin was shot at close range and died from his injuries. A 31-year-old man and fellow Rebels member was injured in the attack.

A five-year-old boy who was sitting near the pair also sustained a minor injury.
