Boy, 16, stabbed in the street in Oldham

A 16-year-old boy is in hospital after being stabbed in the street in Oldham.

The teenager is understood to have been attacked outside homes on Second Avenue in Limeside on Friday night.

Police were called to the scene by ambulance crews at around 6.45pm following reports a boy had been assaulted.

An investigation was launched.

The victim was taken to hospital having suffered knife wounds.

A spokesman for GMP said the teenager's injuries were not believed to be life-threatening and that he is now in a stable condition.

A cordon was put in place on Second Avenue while investigation work was carried out.

This has since been lifted.

No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.
