Boy, 16, shot in Englewood

A 16-year-old boy was wounded when he was shot Monday in Englewood on the South Side.

He was standing outside about 10:20 p.m. on South Normal Boulevard when a male suspect approached him and opened fire, Chicago police said.

The teen was struck in the leg, and he was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital in fair condition, police said.

No one is in custody as Area One detectives investigate.
