Boy, 16, in hospital after being stabbed in Salford

A 16-year-old boy has been rushed to hospital tonight after being stabbed in Salford.

Police were called to Bancroft Road in Swinton at around 8.10pm this evening.

Paramedics also attended and found the teenage boy with stab wounds.

It is believed his injuries are not life-threatening.

According to eyewitnesses, armed officers initially responded to the scene .

Police officers search gardens (ASP)

The incident is believed to have taken place in an alleyway near to Bancroft Road.

Forensic officers were also at the scene tonight combing for clues.

Other officers were searching nearby gardens.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "At approximately 8:10pm tonight officers attended Bancroft Rd Swinton, following a report of a male who had been stabbed.

"North West Ambulance Service attended and a 16-year-old male was taken to hospital with what appear to be non life-threatening injuries.

"This is an ongoing investigation and police are requesting anyone with any information to ring 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 quoting log 3026 30/03/21."
