Boy, 16, due in court after teenager slashed in face in street stabbing

A 16-year-old boy has been charged over attack which saw a teenager stabbed and slashed in the face.

Police were called at 9.15pm on Sunday by paramedics reporting that a 17-year-old male had been assaulted at the junction of Green Haven Close and Haven Road in Fazakerley.

The victim was taken to hospital with a number of stab and slash wounds to his face and a leg after the knifing.

His injuries are not believed to life threatening.

Today Merseyside Police confirmed a 16-year-old boy had been charged with wounding with intent.

He will appear in court today, Tuesday, January 21.

On Monday police remained outside a row of terraced houses on Haven Road, where a front door appeared to have been damaged.

Police also confirmed today that they had charged a second man.

A spokesman said: "David Doyle, 44, of Haven Road, has been charged with possession of an offensive weapon. He has been released on conditional bail to appear at Liverpool magistrates court on Thursday, February 6."
