Boy, 16, charged with riding scrambler bike while filming himself

A 16-year-old boy has been charged with riding a scrambler bike while filming himself.

On May 12 an off-duty police officer spotted a male riding a small, red motorbike with no helmet in an "anti-social manner" in Sutton Leach.

The officer saw the male riding on Leach Lane towards Clock Face at about 12.10am.

While observing the male, the officer noticed the male was appearing to use a mobile phone to film himself while riding.

A spokesman for Merseyside Police said a 16-year-old boy has since been charged.

The spokesman said: "Following an investigation, a 16-year-old male was interviewed and has been charged with using a handheld mobile phone whilst driving; driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence; driving without third party insurance; driving without due care and attention and failing to wear protective headgear.

"He is due to appear at South Sefton Magistartes Court on 14 October."
