Boy,16, arrested and BB guns recovered after armed cops swoop on Midlothian home

A 16-year-old boy has been arrested after armed cops swooped on a property in Midlothian last night.

Officers from Police Scotland, dressed in black uniforms and helmets, were called to Hunterfield Terrace in Gorebridge at around 4.30pm.

As a result, the male was arrested and charged in connection with a communications offence after a number of BB guns were recovered.

He is expected to appear in court at a later date.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police in Midlothian can confirm that a 16-year-old male has been arrested and charged in connection with a communications offence.   

"The incident was reported to police around 4.30pm on Tuesday, April 9.

"Officers attended an address in Hunterfield Terrace, Gorebridge, and were later stood down at 8.40pm.

"A number of BB guns were recovered and inquiries into this mater are ongoing. 

"The 16-year-old will appear at court at a later date."

While cops with dogs focused on a home in the residential street, residents were told to stay indoors throughout the course of the operation.
