Boy, 15, wounded in double shooting on West Side

A 15-year-old boy was wounded in a double shooting Friday morning on the border of Humboldt Park and East Garfield Park on the West Side.

The teen was walking with an 18-year-old man in the 3600 block of West Chicago Avenue when someone in an SUV pulled up and opened fire, Chicago police said.

The 15-year-old was shot multiple times in his buttocks at 9:50 a.m., while the 18-year-old was shot in his foot and grazed in his head, police said.

Both were taken to Stroger Hospital where they were listed in good condition.

Police said the suspect’s vehicle dark-colored, possibly a Range Rover. No arrest has been made.

The shooting happened in CPD’s 11th district, which has recorded a 32% increase in murders compared to 2019, and a 39% increase in shootings, according to official police statistics.

On Thursday, two people where killed and 15 others wounded, including a 5-month-old, in citywide gun violence.
