Boy, 15, rushed to hospital after being hit by car in Tingley

A 15-year-old boy has been taken to hospital with a head injury after being hit by a car in Tingley.

West Yorkshire Police were called to Dewsbury Road, Tingley at 2.07pm after the teenager was hit by a car.

He was taken to hospital for treatment and the road was closed at the junction with Syke Road.

The crash held up traffic on Dewsbury Road.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: "Police were called to Dewsbury Road, Tingley at about 2.07pm today following a road traffic collision between a car and a pedestrian.

"The road was closed at the junction of Syke Road while a 15-year-old male was treated for a head injury.

"He was taken to hospital for further treatment."
