Boy, 15, in hospital with serious injuries following off-road bike smash

A boy of 15 was seriously hurt when his off-road bike crashed into a car.

The collision happened on Huddersfield Road at its junction with Brushes Road in Stalybridge on Saturday night.

The boy was riding a Yamaha off-road bike when he suffered serious injuries, a spokeswoman for Greater Manchester Police confirmed today (Monday).

Police, firefighters, paramedics and the air ambulance were called to the scene.

Pictures showed the rear end of a Honda Civic had been badly damaged in the crash with the motorbike laying in the road nearby.

The road was closed while an investigation was commenced.
